God is the Creator, and God created us! We are all created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), in order to reflect God to the rest of the creation. God has placed us here, in God's creation so that we might be a part of it, so that we might care for it, and so that it might be a place where we can dwell with God (John 1:14)!
But, God did not just create us and walk away. God is our creator, and God is also our former. In Isaiah 43:1, the Prophet says that God created Jacob, and God formed Israel. God creates us, and then he stays close by to TRANSFORM us! In Genesis 2:7 it says that God formed humans from the dust of the ground. When we make bread, we don't just mix up the dough and leave it sitting on the counter. We roll it, kneed it, let it rise, and then we bake it! We create dough, and then we form it to become bread. Psalm 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. God created everything we need to live, and God gave us the tools to live as he intended us to live. Check out Isaiah 63, Psalm 139, Isaiah 40 and Job 33 to learn more!
The students made drums out of pipes and hyde. They will be playing them in worship soon, stay tuned! |
